Community Rules
enkez is a Türkiye-focused social content aggregator and community platform. Its forum, comment, like, and messaging features are subject to the rules below so that everyone can take part safely and respectfully. By creating an account or posting content, you agree to these rules.
Age requirement
enkez serves only people aged 15 and over. By registering, you declare that you are at least 15 years old. Accounts found to belong to anyone under 15 will be closed.
We already apply this requirement in line with Law No. 7578 — published in the Official Gazette on 1 May 2026 and expected to take effect around November 2026 — which adds to Law No. 5651 a rule that social network providers may not serve children under 15. Users aged 15–18 are expected to participate with parental/guardian consent.
Allowed and encouraged content
We support contributions that keep the community lively and useful:
- Constructive discussion and opinions about the agenda, shared content, and threads.
- Accurate, original information sharing that cites its sources.
- Criticism that respects differing views and does not get personal.
- Humour and wit — as long as it targets no one and contains no hate.
Prohibited content and conduct
The following are strictly prohibited; such content is removed and your account may be sanctioned:
- Any content that abuses, sexualises, or endangers children. This carries zero tolerance and is reported to the authorities when required.
- Hate speech: degradation and discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar traits.
- Harassment, bullying, targeting, threats, and persistent unwanted contact.
- Incitement to violence, terrorist propaganda, or calls for unlawful action.
- Disclosing another person’s private information without consent (doxxing).
- Obscene/pornographic content or material depicting extreme violence.
- Spam, deceptive advertising, fraud, phishing, and malicious links.
- Impersonating someone or misleadingly representing them.
- Posts that infringe copyright or intellectual property rights.
- Any other content contrary to the applicable laws of Türkiye.
Reporting and moderation process
If you come across content that breaks the rules, you can report it with the report (flag) button next to the content. When reporting, you choose a reason (spam, harassment, hate speech, obscenity, personal information, or other).
Content that receives enough valid reports is automatically hidden from other users until review is complete and is sent for moderator assessment. If a moderator upholds the report, the content is removed and the author is sanctioned; if not, the content becomes visible again.
In line with our provider obligations, we aim to assess reports within a reasonable time (our target is 24 hours). Content that is clearly unlawful or subject to an administrative/judicial order is handled with priority.
Sanctions and the penalty ladder
Sanctions are applied only by moderator decision; the raw number of reports alone does not trigger a penalty. For repeated violations, penalties escalate gradually:
- 1 dayFirst violation — writing (comments/threads/messages) is suspended for 1 day.
- 5 daysSecond violation — writing is suspended for 5 days.
- 10 daysThird violation — writing is suspended for 10 days.
- 30 daysFourth violation — writing is suspended for 30 days.
- PermanentOn the fifth violation the account is permanently barred from writing; its content may be removed.
During a sanction you can keep reading content; only producing new content (comments, threads, messages, follows) is blocked. For severe violations such as child safety, a permanent sanction may be applied directly without going through the ladder.
Removed content and appeals
A "removed" marker is left where removed content was. If you believe a decision was made in error, you can appeal with your reasoning via the contact address below; we review appeals within a reasonable time.
Contact and abuse channel
As a hosting provider under Law No. 5651, our published contact channel for legal notices, notice-and-takedown requests, abuse reports, and requests under the data-protection law (KVKK) is:
Reports of unlawful content and administrative/judicial orders reaching this address are handled within a reasonable time (our target is 24 hours). Requests regarding your personal data can be sent to the same address.
Changes
These rules may be updated from time to time; for significant changes we try to inform the community. enkez is currently in beta.
